The Spurrr EP is the third release on Voodoo VIllage Recordings and the first release by Memphis (by way of the swamp) resident MarceauxMarcaeux. He invites you to share his acid-drenched, mechanistic Rococco dream of storming the gates of Versailles and taking you in to custody for an eventual visit to the guillotine. Marceaux’s three originals (Spurrr, Hogginopter & Yellowman) will knock you right out of your foppish powdered wig with gilded bass-heavy fervor. Remixes by Them Jeans, Fordinho (a winner of the GROOVESHARK and MAD DECENT Remix Contest for Diplo’s ‘Horsey’) and Voodoo Village’s own Strooly are the icing on the revolutionary cake. Let’s get gaudy!

The entire Spurrr EP will be available on Beatport and Juno (as well as many other digital music retailers worldwide) on January 24th.

According to one critic on Soundcloud, this is the worst piece of garbage that has ever entered their sensitive little baby ears. Then again, this is coming from, and I quote, “a diehard Mötley Crüe fan and i feel sick when i hear that noise of shit mixed with Mötley’s amazing music from the 80′s!!!!!!”. They go on to say that they would rather “hack both my ears off and eat them than listen to this again!!!!!!”

I didn’t see what all the fuss was about myself. Haydn Hoffman did a pretty good job at taking an old hair metal 80s song and making it into something that kids would want to dance to in 2012. Must be all that AquaNet sticking to their brain. I’m so funny!!!!!
