With the carefree summer days behind us, Chicago’s Midnight Conspiracy takes a turn to the dark side with this gritty remix of Gemini Club’s debut single “Ghost”. Taking the original’s disco-inspired strings and up-beat catchy vocals, and subjecting it to a brutalizing treatment of distorted wobbling bass courtesy of Midnight Conspiracy, the song is transformed into a somber and withdrawn shadow of its former self. If Midnight Conspiracy’s summer was characterized by their feel-good italo-disco releases, this new remix may possibly be a preview of darker and heavier times ahead for the group this fall.
