It’s a very toasty Friday in Oklahoma this week. You would think that me living here for so long would make me adapt to the 1000 degree summers. No, I hate the heat.

I have a pretty interesting choice of selections for you today. Finally got some good stuff in my inbox and decided to make a big post with all of it included. I also threw in John Bourke‘s Double Rainbow mashup because Hype Machine didn’t pick it up yesterday. I think because they were doing maintenance when I made that post. I strongly believe that every person in the world needs a little Double Rainbow in their life. All the way.

New Cut Copy! Its a perfect track for the summer

Cut Copy are hard at work finishing their third album, due January 2011, with mixer Ben Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective), and they’re also gearing up for their forthcoming festival tour. In celebration, a brand new song called ‘Where I’m Going’ is now available for the price of an email address. If you want it on vinyl, it will be released as a strictly limited, one-sided etched 7” in August. The tribal pound of “Where I’m Going,” described by the band as “the kind of track Brian Wilson would’ve written if he took ecstasy and hung out in 60′s London instead of California,” will fit perfectly in either a large field or a dark club, and Cut Copy look forward to playing it for fans across the world on the below dates.

This song has been stuck in my head for about two weeks now. Not this mix but the original autotuned masterpiece.

This is a dubstep mashup I made for fun at 6am on a Tuesday while goofing off with my friend Jesse Jamz. It featuring sounds from the artists The Gregory Brothers, Rusko, Nero, Datsik, Phonat, Excision, and myself.

French Horn Rebellion does Sleigh Bells

One of my favorite groups lately, French Horn Rebellion just did a crazy remix for Brooklyn band, Sleigh Bells. This is the most distorted I’ve ever heard FHR go.

OK, so a few months back, we played a show with Sleigh Bells in Rotterdam. Their show was really awesome, and they’re such nice people that we decided to make a remix for them! This is our heaviest remix yet… it’s kinda for the DJ who’s got everybody totally going crazy.. and wants to bring the crowd to the next level of insanity.

HARD is holding a remix competition to get some awesome VIP tickets to HARD LA and score some studio time as well. Clockwork sent over his remix, and while I usually don’t post people’s remixes while contests are still in the judging process, this one I liked enough to do such a thing. I haven’t heard any other remix from the contest and I’m sure that a lot of people will go the whole Dutch House route, but I’m not bothered by that because I am currently a sucker for the movement.
