Ryan Nexus got his start creating mashups back in 2001. From there he took his production on to creating breakbeat music and eventually founded breaks label Systematica Records in 2006. Using the dj/producer name “Kid Nexus”, he released his first single “Lapdancer” in 2007, which received considerable play from the likes of The Crystal Method and General Midi among others in the breakbeat scene. He first gained a reputation in the electro blog scene with tracks such as his bootleg remixes of Does It Offend You, Yeah?’s “Lets Make Out” and Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”. In 2008 he teamed up with fellow Black Box Revue DJ Johan Collins to form Nightsweats. Their remix of Tokyo Police Club’s “Graves” was well received. Other highlights include playing the SXSW Festival in 2009. He also works as a graphic designer and is a dj for Black Box Revue.

Our friend Alan Palomo is having a very good year. First, his musical project Vega takes off across the blogosphere. Now, his second project Neon Indian has been signed to Lefse Records!!! I have to say that I fell in love with The Sounds the very first time I saw them on Leno or Letterman or whatever late night talk show they were on in 2003. They rocked out Living in America and I got hooked. I played that first album probably too many times.
Now they have a new album out, Crossing The Rubicon, which is available on iTunes and all major record outlets. It looks like I need to go pick this one up. I can’t wait until the remixes start pouring in.

Over the last year Computer Club has been on the road pretty regularly DJing all over the United States. Mike just played some major festivals: both Electric Daisy Carnivals (Denver and Los Angeles), FutureFest in Austin, and Starscape in Baltimore. More tour dates are available on myspace, and more to be added soon.
Currently Computer Club is putting the finishing touches on a 5-track EP, soon to come out on So Sweet Records. Computer Club has also been busy on a number of remixes and collaborations with artists such as Le Castle Vania and Frankmusik, and as always Mike is at work on new music and touring with his other project Evol Intent.
